Simply Guacamole

Simple and Easy Homemade Guacamole

The first time I tried homemade guacamole, I fell in love with it.  It wasn’t until high school that I decided to give it a try and boy did I realize I was missing out on deliciousness!  Not toguacamole mention, it is healthy too!  Mom and Nenaw (my grandma) make THE BEST homemade guacamole and I based this recipe on theirs.  I added a bit more spice but generally, it is the same. I love to make it to accompany Mexican or Tex-Mex anytime I make it, or for a just a snack.  It’s also a great side dish at a party! Fresh guacamole can’t be beat… skip the store bought stuff and make it yourself, it’s quick AND easy!

I use all organic ingredients which makes a HUGE difference in nutritional value and taste.  If you are not buying organic fruits and veggies, you need to start NOW!   Avocados have so many healthy benefits, indulging in guacamole is a no brainer!

The video below is a one part of three videos I made while cooking a Tex-Mex feast… which I will be debuting this weekend!  I figured I’d start with the simplest part first.

How to make homemade guacamole:

What you need to make tasty guacamole:

2 ripe large avocados
2 cloves of garlic (minced)
1/4 small red onion (minced)
1 Roma Tomato (chopped)
Juice of 1 large lemon

Sometimes I add cilantro into my guacamole but I did not use it in this video, however it takes it up another notch on the yummy scale.

Watch the video for step by step instructions on this delicious recipe, enjoy and come back to this blog and let me know how you liked it!

    • Delicious and flavorful filnlig, but a bit too spicy and I only used 1/2 tsp of the cayenne. A big hit with the family, including my 5 year old, but next time will only use about 1/4 tsp of cayenne. Will definitely be on our Mexican rotation!
