Pineapple Citrus Burst Smoothie – Non-Dairy

Delicious Pineapple Citrus Burst Non-Dairy Smoothie

I’ve been on a smoothie binge the last 2.5 weeks, partly because I am on a 20 day detox that only allows fruit, veggies and nut but also because I LOVE them!  Since I am not allowed to have diary, I have come up with several non-dairy smoothie recipes that are tasty and smooth!  My favorite of them all is the smoothie I’m sharing now.  I named it Pineapple Citrus Burst because that is exactly what it does when it enters your mouth…bursts with flavor!

The greatest part about this smoothie is you load in a serving of nutrient rich veggies and you can’t taste them.  It feels like a decadent treat without the added sugars and processed junk!  Just an FYI…your kids will LOVE it!

16 oz of Frozen Pineapple
6 Peeled Cuties/Clementines
3 handfuls of Kale Salad (usually kale, carrot and purple cabbage mixture)
2 very ripe sliced bananas
1 cup of fresh squeezed orange juice

I have a juicer but ended up buying some fresh squeezed OJ from the farmer’s market to speed up my smoothie making process.  After having fresh squeezed, you will never want to buy store bought orange juice again…so yummy!

Layer your veggies and fruits into your blender.  I put the kale salad at the bottom so it liquifies first.  Also, it eliminates big chunks of salad in the smoothie.  (FYI…a Vitamix is on my wishlist so I don’t have to worry about the layering process, haha)

This smoothie takes less than 5 minutes to make and with these ingredients, you’ll be able to serve 3 to 4 people depending on cup size.
